Handwritten Amish Books
The Amish started moving into this area in 1974. After years of dealing
with these families, I became fascinated with their lifestyle and history.
With their help I have compiled a couple of interesting books....
"Amish Recipes" is a cookbook handwritten by the Old Order Amish
Families in this area. The book contains a little information on their way of
life and handwritten recipes on everything from meats to candies.
"Amish Writings" is a Handwritten book by a local 21 yr old Amish
woman. This book tells you almost everything you would like to know
about the Old Order Amish in her own words. She tells you about the
typical day in the life of the Amish - jobs, family, schooling, harvesting,
home remedies, duties of an Amish woman, religious beliefs, and
anything else that you may want to know about the Amish.
"91 Ways to Serve Lefse" With my wife Zola and family, we started
a lefse factory known as Norsland Kitchens. We have sold lefse in all 50
states. We have also developed and marketed a product called
"Uffda-Chips" made from lefse. With this book I am sharing my
experiences, recipes, and tips about lefse making. My many experiences
have earned me the name "Mr. Lefse"
.
